Door Magnetic Sensor

The surface-mounted door magnetic sensor always monitor the opening and closing status of doors, and reports the first sign of intrusion into the room.

Long-lasting Protection with Simple Maintenance

Our door magnetic sensor is powered by a standard AA battery, which is easy to replace. If we calculate based on a trigger frequency of 20 times per day, it can last for one year of worry-free use.

Securely Connected Beyond Great Distances - RBF Technology

The door magnetic sensor adopts the high-performance RBF protocol, which can conduct secure two-way encrypted communication with the Smart Hub, with the stable communication distance up to 1900 meters. It is suitable for different places such as apartments, villas, and small shops.

Synced Security Integration for Immediate Response

The door magnetic sensor can be linked with other smart devices like an alarm siren through the Home Security Hub. Once an abnormal opening occurs, an alarm message will be sent to the owner’s mobile app instantly, and the siren will be triggered and sound at the same time. Door security alarm is an important part of the whole wireless security alarm system.

Door Magnetic Sensor FAQs

Magnetic door alarm sensors are compact security devices that play a vital role in home security systems.

Structure:

Magnetic door alarm sensors typically consist of two small parts:

  • Main Body: The wider part houses the control board and battery, often featuring a sleek design to blend seamlessly with your home décor.
  • Magnet: This narrow component creates the magnetic field that triggers the alarm.

Installation

There is pre-attached 3M adhesive backing on both the main body and the magnet of magnetic door alarm sensors. users can simply peel and stick them onto your doors and windows.

When installing, the main body is typically mounted on the fixed surface (like a door frame), while the magnet goes on the movable part (like the door itself).

Also, please ensure the gap between the magnet and the main body remains within the optimal range (usually less than 10mm) when the door or window is closed. If the distance exceeds a certain threshold (around 17mm), the sensor will trigger an alarm, alerting you of a potential intrusion.

Battery Life

Magnetic door alarm sensors are often powered by a standard AA battery,  typically lasting up to 5.5 years on standby mode.

Magnetic door alarm sensors excel in indoor settings:

  • Homes and Apartments: Secure your home by placing them on doors and windows to deter break-ins and alert you of unauthorized entry.
  • Retail shops: Protect valuable inventory or restrict access to specific areas in shops, offices, or warehouses.

Magnetic door alarm sensors typically use pre-attached 3M adhesive for easy peel-and-stick installation. This makes them perfect for renters, as they require no drilling or permanent modifications.

Below are some unexpected places where magnetic door alarm sensors can be used:

  • Drawers and Cabinets: Keep valuables or sensitive documents safe by monitoring access to drawers and cabinets.
  • Safes and Gun Cabinets: Add an extra layer of security by placing a sensor on the door to detect unauthorized attempts to open them.
  • Windows with Unique Openings: Not all windows have a traditional latch. Magnetic sensors can be a great solution for monitoring windows that slide open or tilt inwards.

The ideal number of magnetic door alarm sensors depends on your security priorities and budget. Here's a breakdown to help you decide:

Comprehensive Coverage:

For maximum security, consider sensors on all entry points, including:

  • Front door
  • Back door
  • All windows (especially ground floor and easily accessible ones)
  • Bedroom doors
  • Study door
  • Garage door (if applicable)

Basic Intrusion Detection:

If your primary concern is deterring break-ins, strategically placing sensors in high-risk areas can be effective:

  • Main entrance points like the front door and any easily accessible back doors
  • Ground floor windows

The door magnetic sensor simply detects the opening and closing status between two parts of an object (such as a door or window). It does not alarm itself, but only transmits the opening and closing signal to the home security hub, which serves as  the brain of the home security system.

Upon receiving the signal from the sensor, the hub can trigger various actions you've configured through the mobile app. These actions might include:

  • Sounding the alarm to deter intruders.
  • Sending you a notification to your smartphone, so you can be alerted remotely.
  • Turning on lights to illuminate the entry point.

Therefore, door magnetic sensor needs to be used together with the hub.

As long as the door sensor is installed and used correctly (following the manufacturer's instructions for correct placement, and ensure the burglars cannot touch the sensor before opening the door), the door sensor is not broken and the power is normal, the door sensor will work normally.

After the door magnetic sensor is turned on for the first time, the green light will continue to flash, indicating that it has entered pairing mode. Similarly, when the findme and signal test is performed, the green light also flashes. When the back lid sensor or magnetic sensor is triggered, the red light will flash once.

When the door magnetic sensor is not paired, you can enter pairing mode by reassembling the battery. When the door magnetic sensor already has a pairing record, you need to unpair the device on APPs, then press and hold the pairing button on the device for 5 seconds. When you see the green light flashing continuously, the door magnetic sensor has entered pairing mode, and you can operate the app to connect to the RBF network. Another method is to scan the QR code on the door magnetic sensor to connect to the network.
